It's Halloween again!!!

and as per our usual custom, a couple of us dressed at work. We did our theme again and there are three of us. I'm not going to write too much here, but here are a few pictures. This was a really fun costume to put together, Trav got involved in helping me gather the needed pieces and parts (like fabrics and thread spools) and helped with the final assembly. He took these pics on my iphone, so they are a bit blurry, but I'm sure you get the idea.

hope you enjoy them!!!

and here are a few more from the big camera before he had to leave for work...

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #19

Well, it's time to post the next installment in the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge over at Linda's blog - Studio L3

This is one of the 'funner' ones I've done so far...Extreme Masking, page 61 of Tim's book Compendium of Curiosities (which you can get at Tim's website AND you can purchase an autographed copy). Linda says that you may omit step 5 if you would like, but I think that is a really kewl effect, so I did it!

This week I really only ended up with one halfway decent picture, so I hope it's good enough.

I didn't use a whole lot of different stuff on this one. Peeled paint, faded jeans and fired brick DIs. Two of the masks are Tims and the third I die cut using his die. Spritzed after drying with pearls spray (I made it) then did the optional step with a music stamp I've had forever. The bos tie on the bird is from a stick pin I disassembled for my halloween costume this week and then I used the tiny attacher to put those word thingys on there. I think that's it....oops, no, I used some coordinating stickles for the eye and accents. thanks for looking!

Compendium of Curosities Challenge, Week 18

We are officially halfway through the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge Series! Hard to believe I know, but it is true! Now, though, it's time for Challenge #18!

So, please open your Compendium of Curiosities to page 37, where you'll find Tim's instructions for his fun (and kind of magical!) Dabber Resist Technique!

I am a little short on time this close to holidays (HALLOWEEN COSTUMES!!!) so I decided to do a card front. Tried it SIX times with white, didn't work, mud, so decided that black was the color of choice and that worked out great!

I used TH stamps and tape and DI fired brick, faded jeans & peeled paint. I used a gear and game pointer and hammered the brad. The Ticket was stamped with a $ stamp from Michaels with a home made pin.

And that's all folks! lol

CCC Week 17 - Fragment Charms & Simon Says Stamp and Show some metal

Cutting it close this week!!! I wanted to do something new, but it didn't happen, so I am going to share a project I made to memorialize our Lover Boy, who died on Christmas 2009 from a snake bite. I still miss him so much, he was around 18 years old and was my baby. Anyways, here it is...

This is my entry into the Studio L3 Compendium of Curiosities Week 17 Challenge. This weeks challenge is all about T!ms Fragment Charms and using his technique found on page 64.

I used a number of his charms covering them with coordinating paper and stamping on them
with stazon inks in black.

Used the grungeboard heart and wings covered in crackle paints and
then inked with vintage photo DI.

Anyways, here it is, I am going to be using it as a wall decoration. None of the papers or other items are named because they are all from my stash of weird stuff lol....

This is also my entry into the Simon Says Stamp & Show Some Metal challenge. Not too often I can get in two fer one lol...there are a few metal pieces on there, a key and heart, and a fish bones charm and some butterflies as well as the clip holding Love!

thanks for looking!

This is for the Challenge 16: Wrinkle-Free Distress challenge over at Studio L3... week two!!!

I used peeled paint, faded jeans and antique linen, black soot DIs and silver and black embossing powder. That is about it. very simple. Hope you like it.

Challenge 16: Wrinkle-Free Distress

Challenge 16: Wrinkle-Free Distress

over at StudioL3 the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge is still going strong, and here is my entry

Let me apologize right up front for these pictures, no matter what I did there were no good shots this time. As for that one being sideways, I saved that picture 4 times, going in all four directions and blogger would not load ONE of them right side up. Sorry.

so, lets start off with the technique....I LOVE IT... it is so easy to do and to come up with a really really neat background....I made about 20 before I made myself stop. lol

Ok, and I used four DI for this, antique linen, firebrick, faded jeans and tea dye, the birds are Tims, but the trees are unknown. White gel pen for the snow, white embossing powder for the star and the rest were scraps from other projects.

(posting this at work on break, no time left for more - thanks for looking)
