Happy Mother's Day

Here it is again, Mother's Day. I want to wish all of you a happy Mother's Day, and I hope all your kids treat you right, not just today, but every day. (you hear that all you kids????)

Now on to the part you really don't want to read lol

Today is one of the days of the year that is a little difficult for me. Not as heart wrenching as it once was, but still a rough day, both because I am a mother and because I no longer have my mother.

Some of you are aware of the death of my son, many years ago, and I don't want to go into the details again today, but if you are interested, this post should bring you up to speed - Today is Special

But the main reason for today's post is just to remind folks that Mother's Day is not just today, but every day of the year. And it's not just a day for people who's kids are still here, but also for all of who have had a child die, at whatever age. We are STILL Moms!!!! We still love our child! We still mourn their deaths. We always will. Please, Please, wish us a Happy Mother's Day too, I promise we want to hear it. Even if we cry, it's a good thing...not something to be avoided. We most likely are crying because we are surprised and grateful for your caring and thoughtfulness.

I want to say a giant Thank You to my friends and family who understand this, and practice it, and continue to support me in sharing this with the world. Just because someone dies, it does NOT mean that they were never here, nor does it mean that we should pretend that they never existed...WE REMEMBER THEM!!! Please remember with us, it's important.

And although some might think of this as an after thought, it is not...
Mom, I LOVE YOU, and I still miss you and I always will. You were a very very large and important part of my life and a huge chunk of my heart went with you when you died. I still have that empty spot when ever something happens that I want to share with you and you are not here so I can. I still cry. I miss you. I LOVE YOU!!!

Here is a picture of the two of them in 1985. He was most definitely a Super Man!!! And Nana loved that! Thank you for listening everyone.
